Ways to Get Involved on Giving Tuesday

By November 28, 2022No Comments

CENTRAL POINT, OR: On Tuesday, November 29th, Dogs for Better Lives (DBL) will officially kick off the holiday giving season with Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving back.

This Giving Tuesday, DBL is excited to announce that generous donors have stepped up to match the first $15,000 raised of our $30,000 Giving Tuesday goal. Track DBL’s progress to this goal on our Giving Tuesday page.

November 29th is also CryptoGivingTuesday, which DBL will be participating in for it’s second year. Since DBL began accepting donations with cryptocurrency in October, we have raised several thousands of dollars. Supporters can donate crypto to DBL via this link. Cryptocurrency donations received are converted to US dollars and will be eligible for the match as well.

Ways to gear up for #GivingTuesday and #CryptoGivingTuesday:

  • Post a photo and a message on social media using the hashtag #dogsforbetterlives stating why supporting Assistance Dogs matters to you.
  • Share our Giving Tuesday posts from our social media profiles on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin or Instagram with your network.
  • Email your friends about our Giving Tuesday match, letting them know they can double their impact today thanks to a $15,000 donor match. Send them to this link to make their gift!
  • Make a gift! Lock in your gift and we’ll match it on Giving Tuesday.

This year, DBL is offering a new way to give this Giving Tuesday – Donate Now, Pay Later. Donors receive their full tax benefits for the 2022 tax year and are eligible for the match. Then, they make interest-free installments over the next 3, 6 or 9 months. Donors can select this option by choosing “Give Now, Pay Later” at checkout.

“Every year, there is a major push to raise critical dollars to support our programmatic needs in the next calendar,” stated CEO Bryan Williams. “We have so much gratitude towards the donors who have offered this matching gift opportunity, and now ask others to consider supporting this campaign at a meaningful level, whatever that may be.”

This first $30,000 goal will kick off our goal of sponsoring four Assistance Dogs by the end of 2022 with our holiday giving season campaign. 100% of each donation to DBL goes directly to supporting programmatic services. Administrative and fundraising expenses are fully funded by an endowment, specifically the interest earned from DBL’s long-standing investments made possible by the organization’s Guardian Society donors.

With the support of generous donors, we continue to change the lives of people with hearing loss, families with a child with autism, licensed professionals in need of a canine assistant, and families looking to adopt one of our special Career Change Dogs, and we look forward to placing more dogs in 2023.
