What Makes Us Unique
We train both shelter dogs and purpose-bred dogs to become Assistance Dogs — one of the few national organizations to do both.
We use an in-home placement model, going to the client instead of requiring them to travel to us, for a more personalized training experience.
We provide lifetime support to every dog and client team we place, with ongoing follow-up visits for the life of the partnership.

As a foster in Texas/Georgia, I help give shelter dogs a loving home and a shot at a second career as a life-changing Assistance Dog. Every foster home helps us save more dogs and serve more people. Donating to DBL
Did you know 100% of every dollar donated to Dogs for Better Lives goes directly to programmatic services? It costs about $54,000 to train and place one Assistance Dog — and clients never pay a cent. Community Outreach
Your personal network can open doors for DBL in meaningful ways. Whether you introduce us to a local business, host a small fundraiser, or share materials in your community, these actions can help create new donors, advocates, and partners.
Invite a business to sponsor DBL
Invite your workplace or other companies in your area to sponsor Dogs for Better Lives. Use our corporate partnership framework to start the conversation and show how a sponsorship can make a direct impact.
Host a fundraiser
Organize a bake sale, ask a restaurant to donate a percentage of sales, or set up a Facebook Fundraiser. Collect the funds, then make your gift on our website. Contact us if you need help fundraising.
Employer matching gifts

Host an outreach table
Ask a local venue if you can set up an information table, share DBL materials, answer questions, and talk with community members about our mission.
