CENTRAL POINT, OR ‒ After an extensive four-month search, Dogs for Better Lives’ (DBL) Board of Directors has hired Bryan Williams as its next Chief Executive Officer. Set to start in late August, Williams comes to DBL from Canine Companions for Independence (CCI), having overseen CCI’s Southeast Region in Orlando, FL since 2016, as its Executive Director.

“We’re pleased to see this comprehensive search come to a fruitful conclusion, in securing Bryan Williams as Dogs for Better Lives’ next CEO. This has been a dynamic year of growth for the organization, and we’re all looking forward to working with Bryan on an aggressive and cohesive plan moving forward,” stated DBL board chairman Al Lane.

During his time at CCI, the region achieved record-breaking placements including hearing dogs, significantly increased revenue, welcomed a new Chapter to the region, and unveiled and implemented a plan to improve campus grounds. Bryan is passionate about analytics and metrics, introducing several operational dashboards. He also served on the national Strategy and Systems Team which focused on improving business processes.

Prior to CCI, Bryan was the Executive Director of the Community Foundation of South Lake (Clermont, FL), a nonprofit which focuses on providing leadership to enhance the quality of life in South Lake County by identifying community needs and seeking philanthropic support to meet those needs.

Preceding the Foundation, he worked as the Development Director and then CFO for Halifax Humane Society (Daytona Beach, FL), a nonprofit that exists to protect animals from cruel, neglectful and exploitative treatment.

“Bryan Williams has a proven record of leadership in the nonprofit sector, whether it’s staff collaboration, donor engagement, or community awareness, he’s been successful. His strong winning attitude and personality are assets that will complement and enhance DBL’s ability to meet the needs of our constituents as we continue to provide the best Assistance Dogs to deserving clients, locally and nationally,” noted interim CEO and board member Ron Holzkamp.

For the sixth year in a row, Dogs for Better Lives has received the prestigious 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, highlighting the organization’s financial stability, accountability, and transparency. Further, Dogs for Better Lives was recognized by Oregon Business as a 100 Best Nonprofits to Work for in Oregon 2017, and by Chamber of Medford/Jackson County as its 2017 Outstanding Corporate Citizen – Nonprofit.
