CORE Business Services’ “Scruff for Ruff” Fundraiser Benefiting Dogs for the Deaf Ends Dec. 1

By November 26, 2014No Comments

The men of CORE Business Services’ idea of giving back has gone to the dogs — Dogs for the Deaf (DFD), that is. For the month of November, these guys have been growing a beard and cultivating a mustache for the purpose of raising awareness and donations for DFD. The public has been participating in “Scruff for Ruff” by visiting CORE’s website, voting and donating for the CORE employee who’s growing the best scruff. The campaign ends Monday, Dec. 1, 2014 with a celebratory reception at the CORE Business Services office at 10:30 a.m. when the winner of the “Scruff for Ruff” contest will be announced and a check will be presented to Dogs for the Deaf, Inc.

“We are excited to raise money for a worthy cause in such a fun way. How can you not get behind a non-profit that rescues dogs AND helps people…an organization that has a local, regional and national impact. As CORE grows, I feel very strongly that it is our responsibility to give back,” says CORE Business Services President and CEO Scott Anderson.

Every donation means more resources for Dogs for the Deaf, Inc. to rescue and professionally train dogs to assist people, enhance lives and provide greater independence for people throughout the United States.

Dogs for the Deaf rescues dogs for their programs from animal shelters throughout the western United States. After professional training at their facility in Central Point, OR, the dogs are placed with:

  • People with a variety of disabilities and challenges including hearing loss and deafness.
  • Full-time professionals (teachers, physicians, counselors and other healthcare providers) in the treatment of, and work with, their clients.

“We very much appreciate Scott Anderson and CORE for their support in helping us as we launch Dogs for the Deaf to the next level. We are poised to rescue, train and place more dogs…and also to help more people…than ever,” says new DFD President and CEO Blake Matray.
