Mark your calendars—Bone AppeTREAT is back for its fourth year on Friday May 15, 2026, and it’s bigger, bolder, and more exciting than ever. What began as a virtual fundraiser has grown into a nationwide celebration, bringing together communities across the country to support an incredible mission: training and placing Service Dogs at no cost to those who need them most.
Hosted by Dogs for Better Lives and this year’s presenting sponsor, Boehringer Ingelheim, Bone AppeTREAT is the organization’s signature fundraising event. Since 2023, this one-of-a-kind program has raised more than $460,000—funding nearly nine Service Dogs and transforming lives in the process. This year, supporters can once again come together—either in person or online—for an unforgettable afternoon of fun, food, and friendly competition.
How Bone AppeTREAT Works
At its core, Bone AppeTREAT is a lively, 75-minute live broadcast where five contestants step into the spotlight for a unique culinary showdown. This year’s contestants all have one big thing in common – they are former NFL players competing to win the coveted title of Top Dog with their human-grade dog treats and fundraising efforts.
At Bone AppeTREAT, the audience decides the winner. Viewers vote with their dollars throughout the event, meaning every vote directly supports the training and placement of future Service Dogs and their favorite contestant. It’s entertainment with real impact—every contribution helps change a life.
The event kicks off with a Pre-Show at 3:30 PM PST / 6:30 PM EST, followed by the main program at 4:30 PM PST / 7:30 PM EST.

Our 2026 contestants all have one thing in common – they’re a former NFL player and are repping teams across the country! Our contestants are vying for the title of Top Dog and will be joining us in the fun at our watch parties.
