Falmouth, MA  — Dogs for Better Lives is proud to announce a generous $50,000 gift from Tito’s Handmade Vodka,  the Vodka for Dog People, which will support vital veterinary care for Dogs for Better Lives’ Service Dogs and key improvements to their Northeast Training Campus.

This funding will provide vital, long-term support for the health and well-being of both current and future Service Dogs. By covering the cost of high-quality veterinary care including microchipping, routine wellness exams, vaccines, spay and neuter procedures, diagnostic testing (such as ultrasounds and bloodwork), and early screenings for hip dysplasia and vision loss, this funding helps ensure that Service Dogs remain healthy, active and capable of performing their essential duties for years to come.

In addition to medical care, the gift will help purchase essential supplies, including first aid items, treatment tools, and health maintenance materials. These resources not only extend the working life of each Service Dog but also bring peace to the individuals who rely on their dogs for safety, independence, and daily support.

“This remarkable gift from Tito’s ensures that our Service Dogs receive the exceptional care they deserve, while also helping us make needed improvements to our Northeast Campus,” said Sarah McCracken, Executive Director of Dogs for Better Lives. “With their support, we can continue to provide life-changing Assistance Dogs to people who depend on them every day.”

In addition to advancing the Service Dogs’ medical care, this contribution will significantly improve the safety and functionality of the Northeast campus through key infrastructure upgrades. The installation of an automatic driveway gate will enhance campus security, helping to protect staff, Service Dogs in training, and visitors by regulating access and reducing unauthorized entry. New landscaping equipment and a dedicated storage shed will streamline day-to-day operations, ensuring that the facility remains well-maintained, organized, and safe for everyone on site, humans and animals alike.

Nala, one of the puppies from Frosty’s recent litter, was named by the staff at Tito’s Handmade Vodka

As a thank you to the Tito’s team, Dogs for Better Lives has named one of the next Service Dogs in their care with a name chosen by the staff at Tito’s, Nala. Nala was born on November 2nd as a part of DBL Breeder Dog Frosty’s litter. In December, Nala will be placed with a volunteer Puppy Raiser who will raise Nala until she is 14-16 months of age and can begin her professional training at Dogs for Better Lives.

“Since day one, dogs and community have been at the heart of who we are,” says Victoria Lewis, Field Sales Manager at Tito’s Handmade Vodka. “We’re thrilled to support Dogs for Better Lives and help strengthen the incredible bond between Service Dogs and the people they empower.”
