CENTRAL POINT, OR – Dogs for Better Lives (DBL) is pleased to announce it has received a perfect 100% rating and retained its respected 4-star designation from Charity Navigator, America’s largest and most influential independent nonprofit evaluator.
DBL has earned a 4-star rating for 11 consecutive years, which already places the organization among the most consistently high-performing nonprofits in the United States.
In addition to the 4-star rating, the organization has just reached the highest possible score of 100% for the first time in its history. This perfect score is achieved by fewer than 0.1% of all charities rated.
According to Charity Navigator, “These charities are recognized for being highly impactful, fiscally responsible, transparent, and for adhering to best practices in leadership and organizational culture.”
“This milestone reflects the extraordinary trust our community places in us and the high standards we hold ourselves to every day,” said CEO Bryan Williams. “From our Board of Directors to our trainers in the field and staff across the country, everyone at DBL is united in our mission to place life-changing Service Dogs while ensuring every dollar is used with purpose and transparency.”
The 100% rating from Charity Navigator evaluates DBL across four key areas: Impact & Results, Accountability & Finance, Leadership & Adaptability, and Culture & Community. It affirms DBL’s strong governance and unwavering commitment to delivering measurable impact through its service dog programs.
A key part of that impact: 100% of donations go directly to programmatic services, thanks to DBL’s endowment and generous Guardian Society members who cover all administrative and fundraising costs. This ensures every donor dollar directly supports training, placing, and supporting assistance dogs across the country.
“This perfect score isn’t just a number. It’s a signal to our donors, partners, and clients that we’re a national leader in both mission impact and ethical stewardship,” said Board Chair Tom Dobry. “It’s a proud moment, and we’ll continue to build on this success for years to come.”
