CENTRAL POINT, OR; Dogs for Better Lives is pleased to share that it’s much anticipated signature event, Bone AppeTREAT, is now well into the planning stages. May 12, 2023 is the confirmed date for this hybrid (online/in-person) event.
Bone AppeTREAT will feature five contestants from across the country who will each create a human-grade dog treat in their respective kitchens. Each contestant will also create a fundraising page to engage their colleagues, friends, and family as they compete to create the best dog treat and become the Top Dog of 2023! The five contestants represent California, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, and Washington State.
“We’re very excited about our new signature event, Bone AppeTREAT,” stated CEO Bryan Williams. “This hybrid event will provide the opportunity to engage so many more people, who otherwise would not have the opportunity to participate. From donors to volunteers, all can be engaged in this primarily virtual event, from the comfort of their own homes.”
DBL’s signature event Bone AppeTREAT is planned for May 12, 2023.
Sponsorship of Bone AppeTREAT helps to underwrite the cost of the event while ultimately supporting Dogs for Better Lives’ mission to professionally train assistance dogs to help people with disabilities. In late 2022, DCH Brunswick Toyota in New Jersey committed to becoming the presenting sponsor of the signature event.

For friends of Dogs for Better Lives and the public wishing to participate, DBL will be encouraging all to join us virtually on May 12th and vote for their favorite dog treat. We encourage everyone to create “watch parties” in their homes and invite friends and family over to join in on the live event. Everyone will be invited to vote for their favorite dog treat through donations (e.g. $1 dollar equals one vote).
