CENTRAL POINT, OR; Just announced this week, Dogs for Better Lives (DBL) has been recognized by Oregon Business as a 100 Best Nonprofits To Work For In Oregon, for 2020.  This is the fifth year in a row that DBL has been recognized by the magazine, in the medium size nonprofit category.

“We would not be on this list if it wasn’t for such great employees who are very mission and value-driven and care so much about giving their best, in making a positive difference in the lives of others.” – Bryan Williams, CEO

This is an employee-driven process with all staff invited to provide anonymous feedback through a survey which is directly submitted to Oregon Business magazine. Employees are surveyed about their experiences working for their nonprofit, opportunities to grow professionally, training and support services, benefits offered, and asked about how environmentally proactive their organization is.

“We’re honored and humbled to be acknowledged in this way,” stated CEO Bryan Williams. “We would not be on this list if it wasn’t for such great employees who are very mission and value-driven and care so much about giving their best, in making a positive difference in the lives of others.”

Based on the size of DBL, a minimum of 10 employees needed to fill out the survey to make the nonprofit eligible. DBL had 24 employees fill out the survey, which represented 71% of the organization’s workforce in Oregon.

“This is truly a testament to the quality of staff who are value-driven and dedicated to a collaborative team environment,” stated board chairman David Hollingsworth. “As a member of DBL’s national board, I see this as a testament to a high-functioning team that ultimately, wants to better others’ lives with amazing Assistance Dogs.”

Later this year in October, Oregon Business and the Nonprofit Association of Oregon will host a virtual event, announcing the official order on the list of 100 nonprofits, encompassing large, medium, and small organizations throughout Oregon.

In 2019, DBL ranked #14, in 2018 the nonprofit ranked 8th, in 2017 the nonprofit ranked 13th, and in 2016 ranked 20th. In the state of Oregon there are more than 20,000 nonprofit organizations.

Great! Congratulations to all of you. My brother, Donald, and I knew we had chosen the right place to set up our Endowment. May you continue with the wonderful work you do and expand just the amount needed to keep you all on your toes. I’m sorry he isn’t with us to be able to enjoy your wonderful status there in Oregon.
    Sincerely
    Dorothy (and Donald) Seiwell
