“I’m very much looking forward to working with the Regional Advisory Board – Texas, to help elevate Dogs for Better Lives’ presence in the region,” stated incoming RAB Chair Lauren Hausheer. “I’m excited for RAB-TX to expand its outreach in support of the From Shelter To Service Dog program, deepen community connections, and create an even greater impact through innovative programs and partnerships.”

First initiated in the Pacific Northwest (WA, OR, and ID) in 2020, the Regional Advisory Boards are now working in several key regions across the country where DBL has a significant presence, including California and the Northeast region (MA, CT, PA, and RI).  Following its Texas chapter, DBL anticipates launching its next Regional Advisory Board in the Southeast Region (GA, FL) in 2025.

“We’re excited to see the Regional Advisory Board – Texas launch and know they will quickly progress with impact and invaluable contributions,” stated CEO Bryan Williams. Joining our RABs in California, Pacific Northwest, and Northeast, Texas will only further advance our critical outreach and community engagement focus in the south.”

Regional Advisory Boards play an instrumental role in advocating for DBL while championing its mission, to professionally train dogs to help people and enhance lives while maintaining a lifelong commitment to all dogs we rescue or breed and the people we serve. Throughout the year, Regional Advisory Boards participate in key campaigns and programs, helping to raise awareness and philanthropic support, including Puppy Love Campaign (February), Bone AppeTREAT – watch parties (May), National Service Dog Month – Barks & Brews (September), and End of Year Campaign – Giving Tuesday (December). Special to Texas, the Regional Advisory Board-Texas will participate in North Texas Giving Day (Sept 1-19).

“As a national board member for Dogs for Better Lives, it’s very encouraging and inspiring to see the directed enthusiasm that is coming from the Regional Advisory Board, stated Board Liaison Dr. Chelly Quinn. “I’m very much looking forward to working with them, in helping to advance DBL’s mission forward in Texas.”

We are always looking for volunteers from a variety of backgrounds who are passionate about Service Dogs and ready to make an impact.
