On Friday, November 14, Dogs for Better Lives (DBL) joined Lucid Motor’s at their Newark, CA headquarters for a Veteran’s Day event.
Lucid welcomed employees, veteran students from Sacramento State, and DBL representatives for an afternoon centered on supporting veterans. The program included inspiring remarks from motivational speaker and veteran Carlton Young, as well as DBL’s CEO Bryan Williams. Following the presentations, attendees enjoyed networking, light appetizers, demonstrations with DBL Facility Dog Alder and puppy in training Bea, and demo drives of the award-winning Lucid Air and the new Lucid Gravity SUV.

Jamie Lee, newest DBL board member and Senior Director of Non-Vehicle Revenue at Lucid, helped orchestrate DBL’s participation in the event, alongside Jacob Gonzalez, Donald Milledge, Allegra Robertshaw and Melissa Martin who represent Lucid’s veteran and career advocacy groups.
DBL’s National Community Engagement Director, Michael King was in attendance with Facility Dog Alder. Alder typically spends his days working alongside King’s wife, Meaghan, in her special education classroom. Volunteer Puppy Raisers Irina Green and USAF Veteran Rick Spicer traveled from Sacramento to the event with 1-year old future Service Dog, Bea, who will return back to DBL for formal training in early 2026. National board member Michelle Farabaugh was also present, representing the Bay Area community.
“Lucid’s partnership reflects a shared dedication to honoring and supporting our nation’s veterans,” stated CEO Bryan Williams. “With their generosity and continued engagement, we can connect more people who served with the Service Dogs who bring freedom, confidence, and connection into their lives.”
During his remarks, Williams spoke about DBL’s current support of veterans across its Service Dog programs and highlighted future initiatives aimed at expanding placements for those who have served. Earlier in November, Lucid veterans made a donation to DBL to support these initiatives.
